Dental Implants

We understand a missing tooth or a gap in your smile can have a big impact on your confidence, appearance and ability to eat. Unlike traditional dentures and bridges, dental implants can offer a permanent and comfortable solution.

Dental implants can be used to replace single or multiple teeth. They will improve both the function and aesthetics of your dentition.

A titanium screw is used to replace the root of the tooth and a porcelain crown is attached on top to replicate a natural tooth.

Our dentists will undertake a full examination to ensure dental implants are the right choice for you.

We are extremely proud to offer dental implants with our wonderful clinicians Julian and Shyam!

Which implant system do you use?

Our clinicians use the premium Neodent Dental Implant System. This quality system is part of the swiss brand Straumann group and is highly predictable and efficient.

Why may I need a dental implant?

Dental implants can be used to replace a single tooth or multiple teeth. You may be missing a tooth due to lack of development or you may have had a tooth extracted due to decay or infection. Implants will improve the function of your bite. They may also improve the aesthetics of your smile if the missing tooth is close to the front of your mouth, giving you the confidence to smile again! They are an alternative option to a gap, bridge or denture.

Can I have an implant with you and still see my own dentist for regular visits?

Of course! We would love to be part of your dental journey. You can either self refer to us or you can ask your dentist to send us an email. They may wish to share your clinical notes and x-rays to help with your bespoke plan.

Do I need to replace my missing tooth?

This will depend on which tooth is missing and how your teeth bite together. Typically, we will advise replacement of a missing tooth to prevent future problems. Often remaining teeth can drift into the gap or food can be trapped. Missing teeth can also affect your speech and function (the way you chew and eat). Ask our advice today!

What is the process of a dental implants?

Firstly, our experienced surgeons will provide a full assessment to ensure an implant is the best choice for you. We may then require a small / large X-ray or possibly a CT scan to assess the surrounding bone. The process is usually carried out over two or more appointments. It may take a few months for the implant to fully heal and if required we can place a temporary crown for you. Your bespoke porcelain crown will then be attached to the underlying implant and an aftercare package will be discussed so you will have the confidence to care for your implant.

How do I care for my implants?

You will need to care for your implants just as your would care for natural teeth. This involves brushing for 2 minutes twice daily using a fluoride toothpaste plus cleaning interdentally. Our hygiene team will ensure you have the correct technique to clean properly around each implant using mini brushes and flossers. You should also visit us regularly for your examination and hygiene appointments so we can re-assess your implants.
