Check up

Here at Alderley Edge Dental, we want to keep your mouth healthy and we believe prevention is better than cure so give us a call to book your next appointment.

At every checkup appointment our dedicated dentists will check all the hard and soft tissues in your mouth. We are looking out for signs of gum disease, decay, infection, oral cancer and much more! We often take small, dental X-rays to aid our diagnosis and help to maintain your beautiful smile.

If you do need any treatment, our dentists will provide a plan of treatment which is easy to understand and has all prices outlined.

If you have any questions regarding an existing plan please contact us and we can answer any questions you have.

How often do I need a dental check up?

Each plan is specific to you as an individual but we routinely see patients every 3 - 18 months.

Will I need x-rays at every appointment?

We we usually require a standard dental x-ray of each side of your mouth every 12-24 months. This is so we can see in-between the teeth and underneath the enamel surface layer. It also allows us to assess the level of bone which supports the tooth. From time to time, we may need a more detailed x-ray of a tooth to show us the root. This helps to identify any infections within the tooth and surrounding bone. Prior to braces, implants or extractions we may need to refer you for a larger x-ray at an additional cost.

Does membership include my check ups?

Yes, if you choose to take up our Denplan monthly membership, this will cover your check up and regular X-rays fee, plus your hygiene treatment. Alternatively, you can be a 'pay as you go' patient. Please see our fee page for information on monthly vs PAYG prices.

Can I register as a new patient?

Of course! We love welcoming new patients to our practice. We may need more time on your first visit so please let us know if you have never visited us before. Once we have initially assessed your mouth we can advise you on the ideal frequency to visit our dentist and hygiene team. Please see our fee list for new patients prices.
